Presser Arts Center Programs

In July 1987 the original Presser Hall Restoration Society was formed to preserve this historic structure. One of the dreams of the original board of directors was to renovate the building and give it back to the community for the arts.

Today that dream is coming true. It is a culmination of 57 board members through the years, community meetings, round table discussions and over 100 artists expressing their needs and desires for the arts in our region.

“Today we deliver to the public one of many dreams imagined for our creative community,” said Lois Brace, Executive/Artistic Director. Don Decker, Campaign Co-Chair and Finance Officer stated, “This is truly an important time for our community and our region. We are making a lasting investment to provide the very best for our patrons and participants. The board of directors believe that it will become an anchor in the community, offering new programs for infant/toddlers and senior citizens.” Designed with access in mind, the new expansion and new space offers one story for all its public spaces to increase community engagement and serve a greater number of participants in the region who lack convenient, affordable access to the arts and entertainment.

The 9200 square foot addition and renovation allows us to increase our programs and continue to offer the best events and productions in mid-Missouri. Click on image below to enlarge.
